Bella's Locust Home

You may get the idea that she's all princess... but don't be fooled by those dimples and bows! Bella really enjoys bugs and critters.

She's been working on a locust exoskeleton collection all summer. She has close to 20. lol At first they all hung out in a planter on the front porch in a "tea party" setting she made for them. LOL



I wish I'd snapped a pic of that before they all moved into their new home on the side yard. ;-)



This luxury home is complete with a locust sized hammock and shade garden. She's trying now to perfect the mini pond. LOL She ran out before school this morning to tweek some stuff... which ended in a major tantrum when it was time to load up and go to school! lol I had to tear her away... apparently when you are 6 it's inconcievable that no one would come to your home during the day to see your fabulous creation. LOL She'll be back at it this afternoon I am sure ;-)

Lunch With Miss B

I had lunch again with Bella yesterday. She's been having a hard time adjusting to
life in the 1st grade.

When she started kindergraten last year it wasn't very stressful to her I think because she had a teacher she already knew well. Mrs. Freshcoln was Skylar's teacher 2 years in a row... so she has known Bella since B was 2!! Mrs. Freshcoln is a LOT like me personality wise too...so she really felt right at home with her.

This year her teacher is a stranger...and the capricorn in her is freaking out. ;-)

SO She's been clingy and bawling a lot at home. And begging for lunch dates. ;-)
I talked to her teacher about it this week and she's been watching out for her because she hadn't been able to tell she was struggling... Bella puts on a brave face for such an emotional little person ;-) I can already tell an improvement in her happiness level... so thank God for great teachers ;-)

Let me tell you... Miss J can TALK! She's the only person I've ever seen than can
talk over Bella! lol AND She is a firecracker... I'm praying for her parents after listening to her yesterday LOLOL She's adorable too! T-R-O-U-B-L-E! heehee

Holiday in September?

Who can think about xmas in this texas heat??? Us apparently! ;-)

Every year the holiday listings go up even earlier it seems! SO

Today I had a lunch date

At the kids school if you have a visitor for lunch you
get to sit at a special section of tables called the Burks Cafe.
You get to invite one friend to join you in this very
special VIP section. ;-)

SO Skylar picked Daniel... who you may or may not recognize
as one of the hairy trio from an earlier post.

Then we lucked out and a mom friend of mine showed up to have
lunch with her son, our other friend! SO we all dined together ;-)

We went back in time for labor day weekend!

This past weekend was spent with loved ones in Austin! The kids and I kidnapped Aunt Kayla and we played weekend warriors again!

Cousin Samantha turned 3 and to celebrate she had a wonderful dinosaur party!!
Bella had a dino cake this last bday so she was especially excited ;-)
